Kuwait signs design contract for Gulf rail link
New link in the gulf countries

The long-awaited Gulf Railway project, connecting Kuwait to other Gulf countries, has taken a significant step forward with the signing of a contract between Kuwait's Minister of Public Works and Turkish company Proyapi. The railway will span over 2,000 kilometers, linking Kuwait to Oman's capital, Muscat, passing through Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states. Construction has already begun in some countries, and Kuwait's portion will cover 111 kilometers from the border with Saudi Arabia to Al-Shadadiya in the north. The consultancy contract with Proyapi is valued at approximately $8.1 million, with completion expected by 2030. The final cost for Kuwait's part will be determined after the design phase.
